About Aggie Fund
The Agnes Reynolds Jackson Fund, known as Aggie Fund, was founded in 1992 to help patients at Toledo’s Center for Choice afford abortion care.
For many years, Aggie Fund provided funding only through Toledo clinics. As abortion access became more restricted and TRAP laws created additional barriers, the fund expanded its reach. In 2019, Aggie Fund signed its first memorandum of understanding with a Detroit clinic. Today, Aggie Fund has agreements with one clinic in Toledo and three clinics in the Detroit area, and also works with clinics across the country to help people who need to travel for care.
As abortion access has become harder to navigate, Aggie Fund has increased its efforts in fundraising and awareness so more patients can receive support each year. Community support grew significantly around the Dobbs decision in 2022, especially through Aggie Fund’s membership in the National Network of Abortion Funds. That increase in support helped offset the rising costs of care and travel for patients facing a rapidly changing abortion landscape.
Abortion and reproductive rights are now protected in Ohio’s constitution, but many people still face financial and logistical barriers to care. With community support, Aggie Fund can continue helping more patients each year. As an all-volunteer, community-funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every donation directly helps people in Ohio and Michigan access abortion care.
